Joel commented on my last post asking if my move to a new job will close down theSoundbooth.com and if there will ever be another podcast. Two great questions.
Yes theSoundbooth.com will continue and my intention is to get the podcast back up and running sometime in July. So, thanks for asking.

As many of you know I have recently accepted a new position as the Technical Arts Director at South Hills Church in Corona, CA. This last week has been an emotional one as I closed out my time at Mariners Church where I had been for the last five years. Through parties, dinners and lots of handshakes and hugs, God showed me the impact that I have made in peoples lives.

Which brings me to my real point of this post. Many techs, whether staff or volunteer, don’t realize the impact that they have on the church they serve. The church is not the building or the equipment (no matter how cool or how big), the church is people. Jesus didn’t die for the building or the gear. People matter to God, you matter. Everything you do and the attitude you do it with impacts people around you. Don’t ever forget that.

This week has pushed me to think on the following:

Love God, love others (Matthew 22:36-40).

Work with excellences for a group of 10 or 3010 (Romans 2:10-11).

Know that you have talent given by God to do your job if you are really called to that job (Exodus 31:6b).

God loves you (John 3:16).

While you are waiting for the next installment of the CHURCH PRODUCTION PODCAST you might will definitely want to check out two podcasts. First the guys over at CREATIVE SYNERGY have a great installment on Copy writes and the church. It is vital that you and your church staff listen to this one. Second, FAITH TOOLS have five episodes ready to download. All are great.
