Ok here’s what happened: I forgot that the clock in the auditorium was 3 minutes fast.
I ran up to my office to get a video for a guest and got tied up in a conversiation with our Communications Director and our Lead Pastor. I was in the doorway upstairs to the auditorium when the band started. My first thought was “Thats not right”. My second thought was “The sound system is unmuted, but I am mixing this morning, what the???”
So I flew down the stairs to find my graphics operator, Brent (who is a rock star), at the mixer, he had unmuted the band and changed the lighting cue. At that moment, one of the producers came into the booth and informed me that I also forgot to change the poster board on the easel that PC would be writing on during the message. So I had that producer (I know this part will sound really crazy) “watch” the mixer and I flew up back stage and took care of the easel.
As I got back to the sound booth I realized that I had forgotten to hit record on the CD burner. Good times.
Craziness happens to us all. Be prepared. Delegate. Take all your vacation time. Remember that it is only one moment in time. Dont give up.

“Paul Newman, the Academy-Award winning superstar who personified cool as an activist, race car driver, popcorn impresario and the anti-hero of such films as “Hud,” “Cool Hand Luke” and “The Color of Money,” has died. He was 83.” (Yahoo News)
I truly loved to watch Mr. Newman act. He also seemed to be a nice guy. He will be missed. My favorite Paul Newman movie by far is “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid“. The chemistry between Redford and Newman in this movie and “The Sting” is only mimiced by modern day duos like Clooney and Pitt, but not duplicated.
Marvin Sinson is my Assistant at South Hills Church.
